Laboratories

Our college of Nursing features well-furnished laboratories, including the Fundamentals of Nursing Lab, Community Health Nursing Lab, Medical-Surgical or Skill Lab, Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing Lab, Child health Nursing Lab, Nutrition Lab, AV aids Lab, and Preclinical Lab. These labs support a range of activities essential for nursing education.

Our labs are well-equipped with simulators, mannequins, patient care stations, skill practice areas, teaching aids, and safety and supplies, providing students with the opportunity to practice essential nursing skills before applying them in real-world clinical settings.

NURSING FOUNDATION LAB:

Our nursing foundation lab empowers students to master essential nursing skills in a controlled environment. Our lab is designed to replicate real-world clinical settings with simulation manikins, patient care stations, and skill practice areas.

Equipped with an extensive range of teaching aidsfrom whole-body skeletons to advanced simulation manikins, safety and infection control supplies, specialized and essential instruments, our lab provides students with hands-on experience in fundamental & medical-surgical nursing procedures, enable students to practice and perfect clinical skills.

NUTRITION LAB:

Our nutrition lab offers a comprehensive learning environment where students can explore the principles of nutrition, dietetics, and their practical applications in clinical and community settings. The well-furnished lab features a large dining table, refrigerator, cupboards, gas cylinders, cooking utensils, and essential dining equipment. The lab is equipped with Nutrition assessment tools, dietary assessment methods, balanced meal plans and charts illustrating nutritional needs for various patient conditions and dietary allowance guidelines for different age groups. Each year, students engage in hands-on nutritional practical, fostering a deep understanding of the intricate relationships between diet, health, and disease.

OBSTETRICS AND GYNAECOLOGICAL NURSING LAB:

Our lab is specially designed to guide students in mastering the art and science of maternal and neonatal care. Our lab is equipped with resources, as advanced pregnancy manikins and birthing simulators, anatomical models of the pelvis &skull, specialized obstetrical instruments and equipment.

CHILD HEALTH NURSING LAB:

Child Health Nursing Lab, is meticulously designed to equip students with the expertise and confidence to deliver exceptional care. Our lab is equipped with advanced CPR and paediatric procedure manikins, realistic simulations representing various age groups, Patient care stations withcribs and paediatric beds, child-sized medical equipment (blood pressure cuffs, stethoscopes, thermometers, and oxygen delivery systems), specialized training instruments for formula feeding, paediatric nebulization, medication administration, growth and development assessment, developmental screening tools and play therapy toys.

COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSING LAB:

Community Health Nursing Lab, is equipped with advanced audio-visual aids, realistic models, diagrams, posters, charts, puppets, simulation tools, community bags, comprehensive equipment and materials for conducting community health surveys and screenings. It is designed to simulate real-world community settings, empowering students to develop the skills and expertise needed to drive positive change.

COMPUTER LAB:

The college has well established computer lab with internet facility which is accessible to all learners to keep themselves updated with the current trends and technologies in nursing.

PRECLINICAL SCIENCE LAB:

Our college of Nursing shares preclinical science lab with our parent institution, MES medical college to facilitate learning and exploration. The resources available are comprehensive human skeleton and cadaveric specimens for hands-on examination, advanced 3D models, interactive visual aids, detailed charts, and specialized equipment for in-depth study.

ADULT HEALTH & ADVANCED NURSING LAB:

Our Advanced Nursing Skills Lab offers a hands-on learning environment where students can develop and refine their clinical skills. Equipped with innovative Juno mannequin, the lab provides a realistic and intense training experience. Students can practice a wide range of skills, from basic nursing care such as vital sign assessment and medication administration to advanced procedures like Foley insertion and Tracheotomy care.
